Who we are
"Are you looking for a way to help your child develop their football skills at a higher level without having to sacrifice their other passions and interests? In today’s world, it often feels like the only options are intense, full-time academies that demand complete commitment, or more relaxed recreational programs that might not offer enough development.
At SOS Football, we provide a balanced alternative. Our small group sessions allow players to enhance their football skills while still enjoying their childhood. Designed for those seeking high-level training without the pressure of an all-or-nothing approach, our program offers the perfect balance.
We create an environment where your child can improve their game, nurture their love for football, and still have time for family, friends, and other activities they enjoy. Our sessions are meant to complement the quality coaching your child receives at their club, without the full-time demands of traditional academies.

After his playing career, Sully quickly transitioned to coaching, serving as assistant coach for both Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners in the A-League, and head coach of Newcastle Jets W-League. He has also served as Technical Director of Youth for the Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners academies.

FINDING YOUR IKIGAI
The Ikigai Principle: Finding Balance in Football and Life
At the heart of our training philosophy is the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which is all about finding balance and purpose in life. We apply this principle to our football sessions, helping young players discover the sweet spot between:
What they are good at:
We focus on honing individual skills, decision-making, and understanding the game on a deeper level, helping each player grow in their strengths. What they love:
Football should always be fun. Our sessions are designed to ignite passion for the game, ensuring players love every minute they spend on the pitch. What the world needs:
Beyond just technical ability, the world needs players who can think, lead, and work well with others. We emphasize teamwork, small-group dynamics, and sportsmanship—qualities that serve players both on and off the field. What they can be rewarded for:
Whether it’s personal satisfaction, team success, or progression within the sport, our program provides players with the tools and opportunities to achieve real growth and feel rewarded for their hard work.
Through this balanced approach, we ensure that each player finds their Ikigai in football—discovering how to improve, enjoy the game, and grow as individuals in a way that enriches their lives beyond the sport.
